"There is a sign outside a casino in Las Vegas that says, "You must be present to win." The same is true in meditation. If we want to see the nature of our lives, we must actually be present, aware, awake."

Mindfulness Practice
Since 1991, Vicki has taught mindfulness practice and meditation to help individuals increase focus, reduce obsessive thinking, and achieve relief from stress-related symptoms. In 2003, she developed Essential Practice, a 6-week introductory course on meditation and mindful living. Currently, she offers mindfulness training through her psychotherapy practice and occasionally offers seminars and classes.
Mindfulness is the practice of attending to the present moment, being aware of what is happening in the body, mind and in the environment around us. Developing mindfulness offers the opportunity to experience deeper levels of concentration and a greater sense of well-being.
Benefits of mindfulness training include:
- Reduction of obsessive/compulsive thoughts
- Greater acceptance of self and the challenges of everyday life
- Increased focus and awareness
- Increased sense of well-being and ease
- Relief from stress-related physical symptoms
