Moving Beyond Betrayal Course for Clinicians & Coaches
Helping Partners Move into Clarity, Power & Connection
Next Course Starts October 12
Partners of sex addicts and survivors of infidelity experience dire consequences as a result of chronic sexual betrayal and sex addiction.
As a therapist or coach working with partners of sex addicts, you may want to know:
Are there specific tools I can use in my work with partners to help them navigate their journey from trauma to trust?
How can I help empower partners to make reasonable requests of the addict for trust-building, relationship restoring actions?
How can I support partners to focus on their self-care, and reduce pre-occupation with the addict's behaviors and activities?
Is it okay to hold a traumatized partner accountable when she/he loses containment or is abusive to the addict?
If you've asked yourself any—or most—of these questions, here's what I want you to know:
The emotional well-being of partners requires that they be educated, and develop new skills for self-care and self-protection as they confront the difficult and painful process of discovery, disclosure, and beyond.
Having worked with partners of sex addicts for over 9 years, I know that it's crucial to support, validate, and guide them through a process that brings them greater clarity, power, and connection.
In other words — partners need boundaries.
About Vicki (Moving Beyond Betrayal Boundaries Course Facilitator)
I'm Vicki Tidwell Palmer, author of Moving Beyond Betrayal: The 5-Step Boundary Solution for Partners of Sex Addicts.
Moving Beyond Betrayal is the only book for partners of sex addicts that addresses—in detail—how to identify, create, and maintain effective boundaries as an essential tool for surviving and healing from intimate partner betrayal.
I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Certified Sex Addiction Therapist (CSAT), and a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner in private practice in Houston, Texas.
My mission is to support partners of sex addicts—and the therapists and coaches who work with them—to move beyond betrayal into a life of clarity, power, and connection.
I love sharing my knowledge and expertise — as well as the experience and wisdom accumulated from 30+ years of my own healing and recovery journey — with people who are ready to learn, grow, and transform their lives.
Moving Beyond Betrayal Boundaries Course for Clinicians and Coaches is specially designed for you — to help you support and guide partners of sex addicts in identifying, creating, and maintaining boundaries as a vital component of self-care and an indispensable tool for their healing and growth.
If you want to learn how to help partners use boundaries to create safety, foster their healing, and claim their power, you must:
Know the specific skills and tools that help partners regain trust and confidence in their own reality
Help partners understand the difference between authentic power, “power over,” and powerlessness
Know how to teach partners the fundamentals of making effective requests of their partner—rather than using ineffective strategies like ultimatums, demands, or threats
Know how to help partners identify needs that aren't being met in their life and their primary relationship
Know how to support and coach partners in taking action around what they have power over
Know how to help partners make course corrections when boundaries don't work or are ineffective
Know how to help partners explore all their options, and increase their self-care, when boundaries are violated or broken
Unfortunately, therapists and coaches working with partners of sex addicts often struggle to find the right balance between addressing trauma symptoms and supporting partners in taking action for their healing and growth.
When partners ask too little of the addict, or make demands rather than requests, they can get stuck in the victim position — paralyzing them from making progress.
Here’s one of the best-kept secrets about boundaries:
A partner’s ability to practice effective boundaries
exponentially increases her self-care, reduces chaos in the couples' relationship,
and speeds up the process of finding out whether or not her (or his) relationship can be saved.
When partners understand how boundaries work—and put them into practice—they eliminate the pain, disappointment, and crazy-making that go hand-in-hand with living in the fog of addiction.
Moving Beyond Betrayal Boundaries Course is ideal for clinicians and coaches who:
